Performers From The World Stage
John ‘Bonzo’ Bonham is the legendary rolling thunder of Led Zeppelin rock n roll band, the finest heavy metal rock group to emerge from the rock ‘n roll era to date. Born John Henry Bonham on May 31,1948 in Redditch, Worcestershire UK, his radix Sun Sign shone forth from those mystical degrees of Gemini, sometimes referred to as the 13th Sign of The Zodiac. For those gifted with clairvoyance and clairaudience, that are associated with the sign of the mystical weaver, Arachne, premonitions, prophecies or paranormal events are frequent*. Several well known events in the lives of Peter Herkios and Sir Alec Guinness are on record for the skeptic. It is not surprising that someone with an innate intuitive and adaptive 6th sense would pursue the drum. Since human history began, ancient drums have been heard booming through space as the traditional form of communication, keys to unlock the doorway to the underworld (spirit/akasha) and inner being, and for the inspiration and regulation of social and political ceremony.
Bonzo had been playing around the Midlands with local groups in the summer of ’67, "The Summer of Love". During the second half of that year, he and singer Robert Plant committed to the Birmingham based Band of Joy. Some biographical accounts of Bonzo’s earlier musical forays list him as a session man as well. Teaming up with Plant provided Bonzo’s Gemini personality (The Twins) excellent material to use as replacement for karma themes and templates he had been laboring with until then. The following year and a half brought many professional and social experiences that later on proved invaluable, once he took to the world stage. While Gemini likes to warm up with the local color and enjoys a friendly community gathering as much as the next person, Sagittarius loves the adventure of travel, meeting strangers, and breaking new ground. The Moon in Bonzo’s progressed chart for 1967 took on the Sagittarian rhythm and universal outlook, an ideal packaging for the band’s legitimate stage work outside the UK. The full spectrum of style and mixed variations that distinguished Zeppelin world wide were instantly apparent in their first rehearsal together; they all knew pentecostal music. Their scores ranged from scarlet to akasha black. Bonzo and John Paul Jones enjoyed soul, with Page and Plant who were into heavy blues, with rhythm and blues backgrounds. At that time a twist of fate handed to guitar wizard Jimmy Page heralded the opening door for Plant and Bonham, and ultimately all four musicians who were soon to don the title of Led Zeppelin as though a free flowing garment. Jimmy Page recalls, "At this time a number of drummers had approached me and wanted to work with us. Robert suggested I go hear John Bonham, whom I'd heard of because he had a reputation, but had never seen. I asked Robert if he knew him and he told me they'd worked together in this group called Band Of Joy." Bonzo was the last Zeppelin member on board ~ as drummer and percussionist ~ just in time for the debut performance on October 15, 1968 at Surry University. The group changed names only once (originally The New Yardbirds) as they scaled upward to the heights, where their unmistakable star shines today. They contributed 10 albums during their collaboration (including Coda, posthumously in 1982) and a variety of other musical delights featuring their own signature film, THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME. Each band member designed their own visual and musical fantasy theme within the whole performance format. By the time the movie was made Bonzo’s progressed Sun was already under the influence of Luna’s own sign, Moonchild (Cancer). Regarded as the zodiacal sign governing home and clan matters, the dream sequence patterns by Bonham carried a textural quality somewhat akin to a classic home movie. The song most associated with Bonham, "Moby Dick", is married to images of his wife and son Jason, who is also an accomplished musician brought to the circle of drummers. The love of Motorcross racing (Gemini is ruled by the Winged Messenger, Mercury) also shared by father and son, flashes across the screen like a stroke of lightning during TSRTS racing scene. Jason donates proceeds from his CDs to "John Bonham Memorial Motorcycle Camp for Kids."
Although Zeppelin’s presence was so powerful the music world expected the band would play into infinity, the destiny path scored for this prolific group looms as large and unique as the individuals comprising it. From John Bonham’s chart at least, we find there was some conscious awareness of many subtle insights, various twists and turns as they were woven into Led Zeppelin’s dance to the top of the mountain by The Spinners of such great tapestries. Bonham’s personal destiny pathway was somehow illuminated for his waking consciousness sometime around midnight of the 23rd of September, 1980. It s as though his higher self (oversoul) whispered sweetly in his ear and prepared him for the opening door before him in the coming week. When the higher self and waking conscious mind interface, there is often a cognition and redefining of the whole electro-magnetic make up as realization of higher dimensional planes is assimilated. Several Solar and Mercurial aspects involving sextiles and trines (indications of luck and benefits) working with the respiration and animation of the physical temple, with TransNeptunian planets, promoted extremely favorable chemistry when Zeppelin first performed together. On September 25, 1980 the same heavenly bodies were prominent as had been in October ’68 when the group first melded, however the 1980 positions had shifted into squares and oppositions in Bonham’s chart (sources for friction, stress, pressure, oppression and frustration). While riding high on the established momentum, the decision to initiate a new chapter in the Led Zeppelin chronicles was predictable within the music world. That week Zeppelin traveled to Page’s home to fine tune new songs for their upcoming tour.
John Bonham’s chart aspects at midnight of September 23rd going into the early hours of the following day, when the began his infamous drinking bout, reveal how the basic arrangement of obviously positive energies spotlighted on October 15, 1968 were transformed and reversed in their effect on him. While the distance between planets and lights was favorable on October 15th, 1968, producing tremendous tension, but as positive inner friction, the urge was to push and go against the grain in an effort to improve, reform, remain current. People with strongly aspected Mercurial charts often have this inner friction to challenge tradition - to drive in a manner contrary to the status quo (against what had been established, therefore was obsolete). These same basic forces in the universe (planets and lights symbols of them in the material world) when in stressed distances, will pull and push in ways that generate too much inner friction and so the raw energy overwhelms rather than feeds the systems, and can cause burn out.
That week Zeppelin was traveling to Page’s home to work up the new songs for their upcoming tour. So, the same factors that propelled the group to the top of the charts initially faced off to form a 180 degree opposition, like a pendulum reversing its swing, and began to undo the constructive composition of the band. The impact was probably especially difficult for Robert Plant who had also started an internal identity revision on the 25th of September, as several heavenly bodies within his progressed chart were transitioning from one sign to another at 0 degrees. The effects of the in-door out-door materializing before both Bonham and Plant were profound for them both at the same instant, but in entirely different ways. Bonhan and Plant both cleared past karma issues and attained closure within a short time of the Autumnal Equinox a few days before, but via different methods. Perhaps this was due to lack of information in our modern world about how these doors work. When doors open it is optional whether you walk through if you have personal wish to remain in this dimension. If karma is complete energy can be processed and transformed while incarnate. Shortly before Christmas of 1980 the surviving band members came to the conclusion they wouldn’t be a viable entity any more without Bonham as their drummer and disbanded. John Bonham’s brother recently announced a very personal 30th anniversary photo collection of pictures off stage, from behind the curtains. Jason Bonham continues to perform with the biggest names in Rock ‘n Roll.
