Finally, after 50 years of stage and screen presentations, Maggie Smith is a Super Star. Children stop her in the street. "They mostly ask me to turn into a cat, which is very, very tricky because I can't do it," she says.   "I wish I could."

Gloucester Cathedral is one of Hogwarts interior locations, and part of the backdrop for the infamous Troll scene in the first film, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. The welcoming committee above are spirits from the four houses.

Maggie Smith and Robbie Coltrane were the players specifically requested by J.K. Rowling [Sun 8° Leo, and stellium: Mercury @ 00° Virgo 00' in wide conjunction to 7°Venus, and her 12° Uranus conjunct Pluto @ 14° Virgo. Luna near 19° Virgo] for her films. Left, Prof. Dumbledore and Prof.   McGonagall drop off newborn Harry Potter at the Dursleys. Image~Professor McGonagall announces new school safety rules after Muggle attacks.

The films are better every time there is a new one, if anyone can imagine that! Harry Potter [Daniel Radcliffe, born 7/23/89 in London, with a strong Leo stellium. Sun is in the cusp degree @ 0° Leo 34', with a wide 6° Leo 24' Mercurial conjunction. Mars @  23° Leo 01' blends with Venus 29° Leo 16' conjunct Regulus, the Royal Star and sextile TransNeptunian Poseidon, indicating fame via the subtle science and higher octave communication skill], Ron [Rupert Grint, born 8/24/88, Hertfordshire with his Virgo Sun @ 1°, and Moon in Capricorn; his Mercury @ 20°17' conjuncts Vesta @ 22° Capricorn 06' and The Peacock @ Capricorn 23°], and Hermione [Sun in Aries 25° trine Moon in Sagittarius; other exaltations include Venus @ 9° Pisces 30', and Jupiter @ 4° Moonchild 32'; Hermione's birthday is September 19] must face their fears and foil Sirius Black's plot. They succeed by use of Hogwarts accoutrements, their spells and magic wands, as well as thoughtful guidance from their instructors and headmaster.

Michael Gambon will play the character Richard Harris brought to life in the first two films, Professor Dumbledore, headmaster at Hogwarts. Robbie Coltrane returns as Hagrid, acting as Hogwarts new Care of Magical Creatures Teacher & Gamekeeper, with some new, fascinating furry and feathered friends. Born on March 31, 1950 Coltrane's Sun in Aries @ 9° 50' squares his 8° 44 Capricorn Ascendant w/i a degree of perfect.

Alan Rickman [Sun in Pisces 2° conjunct  7° Venus  and 10° Mercury quincunx Pluto @ 10° Leo] is back as sneering Potions Instruction Professor Snape. Rickman absolutely nails Snape's confounding blend of malice and secret compassion. He ranks third in the line of teachers from Hell. In addition, Emma Thompson appears as wacky soothsayer Professor Trelawney, teacher of Divination. David Thewlis is mysterious Professor Lupin, Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher. And the DEMENTORS...

Disillusionment (Spell)
as defined in The Harry Potter Grimoire
- a charm hiding the true, magical nature of something, such as the example of hiding Hogwarts from muggles. It works by making something or someone like a chameleon, which can assume its background colors in order to blend in, in effect becoming invisible as far as the eye is concerned.

Christmas at Hogwarts - Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone

Harry receives a special gift that once belonged to his father, entrusted to Harry by Professor Dumbledore. The headmaster had held the legendary cape in safe keeping [the way Obi Wan tucked Luke's light saber away until he reached the age when he could use it.] The clock of invisibility appears in CLASH OF THE TITANS and so does the three-headed guardian Cerberus! Both Perseus and Harry Potter wear their hiding cloak and eventually face the dreaded three-headed guardian at the door to the "underworld."  Go to Maggie Smith in 'TITANS' as Thetis, ocean goddess and queen of the dreamscape during the era of seafaring races.

The Alnwick Rose a beautiful symbol of Alnwick Castle

Harry Potter film locations, interior and exterior Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. [Steer clear of the Whomping Willow that reduced Harry's Nimbus 2000 to "a dozen bits of splintered wood and twig".] Photogenic Alnwick Castle is also the film site for Robin of Sherwood. Gryffindor's walls are adorned with 'The Lady and the Unicorn' tapestries, among the most beautiful antique French tapestry art treasures of the world. They were wooven c.1500, probably in the workshops of Flanders. Especially note, A Mon Suel Desir,  one of the six tapestries with the arms of Jean le Viste. Each represents one of the senses except for the final ‘A Mon Seul Desir’. These 12’ high masterpieces were lost until 1844 when the novelist Georges Sands discovered them in Boussac.

CLASH Of The TITANS

Thetis, Goddess of Dreams and Ports of an Ancient Civilization

Maggie Smith has her Sun in Capricorn @ 6°05' and her Moon on the cusp of Virgo/Libra conjunct Poseidon, so she is comfortable on a marble pedestal. Luna/Poseidon confer remarkable empathy and genius-like gifts of perception. [See Poseidon charts for people with this kind of stature.]  Many of her Capricorn influences suggest responsiveness to topics associated with spirit. They include Vesta @ 0° Capricorn 01', Mercury @ 4°34', Venus @ 15°37', and Juno @ 26°52'. In the wizarding world, the inner eye means someone with an ability to prophesy the future, a very rare magical gift; a witch or wizard with this gift was called a Seer. (PA6, OP18, HBP25) [at Hogwarts, Divination class  uses the book The Dream Oracle, written by Inigo Imago.]  Neptune conjunct Apollo in Virgo traditionally indicates gifts for chemistry and the sciences of the future. Perhaps one day we will see Professor McGonagall substituting for Professor Snape in his potions laboratory!

According to Derek Jacobi, who began his career with her at the fledgling National Theatre, "Being onstage with someone like Maggie Smith, who thinks at the speed of lightning . . . that's a lesson in itself. Unless you keep up, you are lost". Praise comes no higher.

Thetis
Asteroid 17  Thetis, daughter of Nereus and Doris, was a marine deity, given in marriage to Peleus when Zeus and  Poseidon failed to woo her. Chiron told Peleus how to overcome her, since she had, like Proteus, the power of assuming any shape she chose. One amusing episode that involved the amorous Zeus is described to the Olympians by Thetis in, Clash of the Titans. All the immortals were invited to the wedding of Thetis and her mortal husband Peleus, except Eris (Discord) who avenged herself by tossing into their midst the golden apple that was to be the cause of so much misery. Thetis became the mother of the hero Achilles, [
Brad Pitt in, Troy] who has his own asteroid, numbered 588. It was Thetis who dipped her son in the River Styx to make him invulnerable, but she held him by the heel, and so gave him his famous weakness. His magnificent armor was fashioned by Hephaestus, whom Thetis once saved in his youth.
