Kevin Costner has a 3 Destiny Path.
Dances With Wolves Comment about the Sioux The tribe is divided into three branches: the Lakota, the Dakota, and the Nakota. The language is the same for all three, except that the Lakota pronounce an "L" where Dakotas and Nakotas pronounce a "D" or an "N." The Lakota, or Tetonwan, are now the seven western subtribes living on reservations in South and North Dakota. Originally, the Sioux lived in the Great Lakes region, but when their Ojibway enemies obtained guns from French traders, they pushed the Sioux westward across the Missouri River. Once the Sioux acquired horses they became the proverbial Red Knights of the Prairie, the finest light cavalry in the world. The center of the Sioux's existence was the buffalo, which they hunted on horseback. Buffalo gave them everything they needed for life: meat; skins for robes and tipis; bones for knife handles and needles; horns to be carved into spoons and other implements; and sinew twist for string, thread, and bow strings. Early in the white westward expansion, the Sioux were friendly toward the settlers, but were eventually forced to fight for their hunting grounds against the onslaught of gold seekers, buffalo skinners, and a "river" of settlers. They proved themselves to be formidable fighters. At the battle of Little Big Horn, the united Lakota tribes and their Cheyenne allies wiped out Custer's Seventh Cavalry. The slaughter of the buffalo by white hunters and the relentless pressure by the army finally forced the proud tribes into reservations. Some of the most famous names in Indian history were Lakota, Sitting Bull and Red Cloud among them. -Richard Erdoes and Alfonso Ortiz, AMERICAN INDIAN TRICKSTER TALES
The Plains Indians
"...But the ones that are really spiritual, and I know that there’s
some meaning in there that I wouldn’t understand but wants to
portray itself... will begin to appear in the back of my mind and I
won’t see it, or I won’t question, I [just]
I keep
focusing - It just creep up. Even in the Big Buffalo Hunt, late at night when I’m paint I can hear the buffalo running, Smell the dust and just just really get involved. I feel like I’m actually there. When I stop and come back to reality I’m sweated, I’m tired, like I’ve run a race of some kind. That’s how involved I get. To me I’m livin in this fast movin world with big cars and grocery stores right down the street. Don’t have to chase the buffalo anymore or hunt deer to survive. But there’s another kind of life that I live also and that’s Indian. That’s very important to me - to remain Indian." |

Carl G. Jung writes that the medicine man of the Ogalala Sioux, Black Elk, experienced a powerful vision during a childhood illness and from it grew an important ritual for his people. He saw four groups of beautiful horses coming from the four corners of the world, and then, seated within a cloud, he saw the Six Grandfathers, the ancestral spirits of his tribe, "the grandfathers of the whole world." They gave him six healing symbols for his people and showed him new ways of life But when
he was 16 years old, he suddenly developed a terrible phobia
whenever a thunder storm was approaching , because he heard "thunder
beings" calling to him "to make haste." It reminded him of the
thundering noise made by the approaching horses in his vision. An
old medicine man explained to him that his fear came from the fact
that he was keeping his vision to himself, and said that he must
tell it to his tribe. He did so, and later he and his people acted
out the vision Black Elk said: "Even the horses seemed to be healthier and happier after the dance." -Carl G. Jung, Man and his Symbols

Robin Hood -- Prince of Thieves Alchemy, an undercurrent of many stories about the timeless hero Robin Hood, has been sighted as an important part of international politics during 1991, the year this film was released. Inferring one structural factor in the operation to acquire or process alchemical gold, the opening scenes compellingly summon the apt visual representation of infamous Mercury and the attendant obstructions. They are deadly. Many exacting alchemists have died trying to escape Mercurial restraints. Robin Hood scholar Professor Lorraine Stock notes how clever, imperfect Mercury [in the character of the Sheriff and his coven] set up Locksley, Sr. "The torch-lit 'white robed on horseback' look of Rickman and his henchmen gives the effect of Ku Klux Klansmen on a malevolent nighttime visit to a slave-sympathetic southerner. This has a lot of visual resonance for the American audience. It injects another facet of the film's dealing with the issue of race." The curse of left brain political strategy is issued through the lies of the Sheriff; race/social discrimination cards help to launch the devastation incurred by the clan and castle of Locksley. Over the centuries we discovered that Mercury, not Lead, is capable of holding worthy and unworthy seekers back from the gates that lead to the prize. The accurate formula for the precious metal must have all pure ores [seven] - none may be omitted - if the chemist is to find the final reward and complete the great work. I would be remiss should I fail to mention the Sheriff, played by Alan Rickman, is Harry Potter's Potions and Alchemical study teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Professor Snape is the headmaster of Slytheryn House that boasts a common room reminiscent of the dark caverns inside the walls of the Sheriff's castle. Kevin Costner's Robin Hood opened on June 13, 1991, and on June 10, 2003, Warner Bros. released a special two-disc "Special Edition" or "Extended Edition" DVD of Robin Hood -- Prince of Thieves. 12 minutes of footage have been restored, with other gems including two complete commentaries. Stars include Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman, Christian Slater, Alan Rickman and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.
The mythological phase of consciousness is a bridge from magical to mental functioning. As the hot lava of the magical level is touched by the first, cold air of the discerning mind, it gels into forms. These are the mythological images. The current moves back and forth all the time between the earthly unitary field awareness and the airy abstractions of thought. -Edward C. Whitmont, RETURN OF THE GODDESS Robin Hood -- Prince of Thieves DVD review ...it's refreshing to have a preface to the old story in which we meet the robber hero of Sherwood Forest as a soldier in King Richard's Crusades, coming home to find his people under siege from the cruelties of the Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman). After Robin and his community of outcasts and fighters take to the trees, director Kevin Reynolds (Fandango, 187) is on more familiar narrative ground, and he goes for the gusto with lots of original action (Robin shoots two arrows simultaneously from his bow in two directions). Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, as Marion, makes a convincing damsel in distress, and Morgan Freeman brings dignity to his role as Robin's Moor friend. Alan Rickman, however, gets the most attention for his scene-chewing role as the rotten sheriff, an almost campy performance that is highly entertaining but perhaps a little out of sorts with the rest of the film. The DVD release includes production notes, theatrical trailers, optional French and Spanish soundtracks, optional English, French, and Spanish subtitles, widescreen presentation, and Dolby sound. --Tom Keogh Second disc includes interviews, specials and, according to Doug Thomas, excellent, "extensive notes on the history of Robin Hood and a gallery of production photos and weapons. Best are the eight selections of Michael Kamen's stirring score recorded in Dolby 5.1."
The Maxima White frequency is the sacred syllable 'OM.' 'OM' precedes and completes all sentences that are found in spiritual and sacred texts in countries like Tibet and India, where recording and illumination are regarded as ancient art forms. 'OM' opens and closes all doors in the created worlds. The sound is associated with Jupiter and the Brahman. Traditionally 'OM' is the same sound heard around the planet Jupiter that co-governs [with the Sun and Moon] the earth's weather cycle. Links with God and Noah as the new patriarch of the rainbow covenant are obvious. Mythology also provides powerful sky conscious figures who are linked with the storm and/or the rainbow bridge, such as Odin/Wotan, Thor/Donner, Zeus/Jupiter, Hera and Iris, Gandalf and Saruman, and many others.
