Some Stars to Be Aware Of
|
Aldebaran
An orange star, first magnitude. The ancient name, from Arabic,
means "the Follower," as the star seems to follow the
Pleiades, or Seven Sisters star cluster, across the sky.
Red and orange are reflected in the eye of
the waiting bull, always opposite Antares, the red giant of the
scorpion. Antares means "Rival of Mars" because this ruddy red
giant is near the average brightness of Mars.

Hamal
-An orange star, second order
of magnitude. Around the time of Homer, the equinox was situated
only nine degrees south of Hamal, allowing us to personalize
the time that has passed since the Iliad and Odyssey were
written.

Sirius, is the
brightest star in the night sky. From
Orion, look south and to the east to find brilliant
Sirius, as if one really needs directions to find the
brightest star in the sky. Its name comes from the Greek
word for "searing" or "scorching."
Also known as the "dog star," its first appearance in the early
morning signaled for the Romans the onset of the hottest time of
the year. It forms a double star with Sirius B, the two
revolving around each other.
Dog, wolf or bear, this animal knows the ways
of the woods. Very close to Procyon, another neighbor. Sirius is
one of the ancient star systems said to have had contact with
humanity, figuring prominently in legends around the world.

cousin Bellatrix Lestrange. He is presumed to have moved
forward to higher dimensions. His name has since been
cleared posthumously by the Ministry of Magic.

The Twins - The Cabiri [?] They are
twins only in mythology, these warriors, Pollux fathered by Zeus
and divine, Castor mortal, both placed in the sky to allow them
to be together for all time.
Castor is a white star, between first and second order of
magnitude, 48.6 light years away. Pollux is an orange star, first order of magnitude, 34.7 light years away.
These two nearby star systems may have had, or still may have an
ancient conflict, as mythology reports.

The brightest stars were said
to be first magnitude. Colour is

the U.S.

AL JABHAH 27LEO34
2000 A.D.
AL JABHAH [eta Leo]
the "Forehead": Promotes love,
benevolence, and help against enemies.
The Latin word for this
star is Juba. Algieba (gamma),
Adhafera (zeta), and
Al Jabbah (eta) were called the Sickle.
Etymology:
ADHAFERA.
Curl of the Lion's mane. It has been called
the Funeral Pyre. The “pyre” could be a significant echo of the FERA
element, as HeBHeR is FIRE in Hebrew (see “FIRE”).
Or, the fire can
merely be connected to the Leo fire sign imagery, and the lion’s mane.
The mane points to the hairy PeR(GH)A or FeRA root seen in “PILE” Along with any flashy fire,
this theme is likely a showy symbol of
the subject’s gorgeous locks of hair, or even if bald, his/her curling, flowing ego.
